Kitchen Bar Stools

When we think of barstools we often think of a place to sit while drinking in a bar or pub, and not a piece of furniture in a home, but in fact bar stools are some of the most versatile home seating available.

Kitchen bar stools can set the theme of your kitchen depending on the style of stool, or they can help to maximize available space. By placing kitchen counter bar stools at an ordinary counter your work and eating space may have more than doubled.

Kitchen Breakfast Bar Stools

For active families, an island or a tall table or counter with some kitchen breakfast bar stools may allow for connecting as a family in the morning even if everyone is in a bit of a rush. Traditional kitchen furniture doesn’t really incorporate the use of bar stools because kitchen tables are usually too low and stools, in the past, have been used just as extra seating or as something to stand on to reach a high shelf. However the modern usage of a bar stool to set around a kitchen island, that some kitchens have built-in, has caught on more so in the last few years with the popularity of open style kitchens.

Although kitchen islands may be used for the cook to chop vegetables or prepares dishes, it is also more practical than a kitchen table for other uses, like for serving snacks to children, for groups of people to socialize in an informal manner and even for kids to spread out exercise books and texts to do homework or to make school projects.

Barstools that are the right height can be counter stools that slide under the counter when not in use. A swivel bar stool can be set near small kitchen bar tables where kitchen chairs might otherwise take up too much floor space.

Kitchen bar stools needn’t be counter stools. They can be folding step stools or seats that go with a wrought iron kitchen cart or placed together with a round or half circle bar table in very small kitchens.

Kitchen carts that wheel into the dinning area can be used as seating for when children come to visit, if you have a few low or folding stools that are the right height. Breakfast bar stools can even be pulled up to a window sill or ledge instead of having to sit at a kitchen table and chairs when all you want is a morning cup of coffee and the newspaper.

Tall bar chairs will often have backs and cozy cushion seats that can be used on patios, decks and against balconies or high verandas that can act as small counters for setting drinks or small items. If you’re hunting for kitchen furniture bar stools may be the only pieces you need apart from the appliances the kitchen comes with.
